Thomas Sutton (–) founded a photographic company in Jersey in , together with Blanquart-Evrard. The company produced prints from calotype paper negatives, waxed to render the paper translucent. Sutton was editor of Photographic Notes, the fortnightly journal of the Birmingham Photographic Society (though published from Jersey) which he founded together with his partner.

Who We Are Birmingham Historical Society Celebrating Birmingham's Historythrough Research,Publishing, & Education Established inthe Birmingham Historical Society contributes to the quality of life in Birmingham by preserving, learning from, and celebrating its past while helping to shape its future.
It celebrates Birmingham history through research, publishing, and education. The first Birmingham Photographic Society was founded in October Membership was universally available to men and women.
